Soldeu is a compact and reasonably attractive village in an open, sunny position
on a terrace above a narrow gorge. Excellent conditions prevail during normal winter
snowfall, the resorts altitude and predominantly north facing slopes ensure a long
season and virtual snow certainty when other resorts may be suffering Soldeu has
now been linked with Pas De La Casa and El Tarter to create the Grand Valira ski
area which covers 193km of piste.
There are 3 or 4 good (but small) sports shops in Soldeu. If you are looking to take
part in more serious shopping activity, you can take the half hour bus ride to Pas
De La Casa and check out the Olympia sports department store, or alternatively head
in the opposite direction to Andorras capital.

Soldeu is one of the most popular Andorran resorts for British visitors catering
predominantly for the 20-30 age group however, the recent addition of the 4 and
5 star Sport Hotels have taken the resort more upmarket and made it more appealing
to skiiers of all ages. Soldeu offers something for the full range of skiing abilities.
Apres Ski is heavily British orientated with live music bars and discos. The main
action centres around Avalanche, Aspen Bar, Fat Alberts and the Pussycat Bar. There
are limited day-time activities meaning this resort may not be suitable for non-skiers,
however the 5 star Sport Hermitage hotels Spa is a relaxing treat in paradise surroundings.
