Ski holidays to Mayrhofen are typically based in the picturesque Zillertal valley. A few years
ago the Zillertal holiday villages of Mayrhofen, Hippach, Finkenberg and Tux joined
their mountain lift systems to create the super ski area-“Zillertal 3000”
offering 157km of piste.
Zillertal-3000 claims to guarantee snow with 95 snow cannons forming the largest
snowmaking system in the Ziller valley. The area caters well for intermediates with
60% of the runs in their favour. Although there are sufficient ski schools for beginners
and there is enough to challenge the more advanced. Three permanent, free race-tracks
with time metering provide an excellent opportunity for races and the new Harakiri
descent is the steepest, groomed piste in Austria and is only recommended for really
excellent riders.
