Saalbach Ski Holidays

Despite being one of Austria’s most expensive resorts, Saalbach has a lot to
offer. It has an air of sophistication which centres on the pedestrianised main
square (Dorfplatz). The streets are lined with hotels and pensions, all in the traditional
Tyrolean style. Terrace cafes are plentiful giving the resort a relaxed, and laid
back atmosphere.
Saalbach is visited by Germans, Dutch and British, Saalbach is equally suited to couples, groups and families.
There are an extensive selection of runs for all levels as well as nursery slopes
for beginners. Saalbach is linked to one of Austria’s largest ski areas, the
‘Skicircus’ which boasts 125 miles of marked piste. There are over 10
miles of tracks for cross-country skiing in the immediate vicinity.
Saalbach is located ½ mile from Hinterglemm where there is a permanent carving
track. Ski-buses operate between the two resorts.

Apres-ski in Saalbach is lively with a choice of discos, hotel entertainment programmes and more traditional cellar bars.
The shops in Saalbach are high quality and include designer boutiques and activities for non-skiiers include indoor swimming, ice skating, bowling and museum visits.
