About Val Thorens Even during a poor-snow winter, you should be able to count on Val Thorens. At 2300m, it’s the highest ski resort in Europe, contributing 93 miles of its own slopes to the vast Three Valleys system which it shares with Courchevel, Méribel, and Les Menuires – a total of 373 miles. With slopes as high as 3230m (10,600ft), the area has an excellent snow record which supports skiing right through until May. The resort has been designed to offer doorstep skiing from practically wherever you stay and has a village feel around a compact centre where car access is restricted, so it's lovely just to to wander around.
