The Finnish resort of Levi gives you World Cup-standard skiing, the Northern Lights and so much more in terms of winter activities, all in magical Lapland.
A very short transfer from Kittila airport, Levi is an adventure resort with a full range of activities well beyond the great skiing, like excursions to a reindeer farm, a husky safari and snowmobile safaris taking in the Arctic Circle’s unique wildlife. If you want to make the most of these unique activities, then it's advised to book with us in advance.
The resort itself is compact and colourful with a variety of shops and around 60 restaurants. It's almost North American in appearance and the wooden cabin buildings always give off a welcoming air, particularly to families. In such cold conditions this and the warmth of the native Lappish people comes as warm relief. There’s not much in the way of après, but you can keep dancing into the small hours should you wish to.
The resort centre is located right at the foot of the main ski lift which gives you great convenience, as do the 17 floodlit pistes that keep keen skiers out well into the evening. On the mountain you’ll find uncrowded slopes, a world away from well-populated pistes of central Europe. There are huts dotted around the mountain with log fires and grills, so you can save a bit of money by taking sausages and mashmallows to sizzle for lunch. As one of Finland’s most famous resorts, Levi also hosts World Cup ski events every year – a measure of the quality of some of the slopes here.
With the excellent skiing and large selection of winter activities, Levi is a great choice for groups of friends and families. You'll see little ones being towed around the resort on sledges, which can be bought fairly cheaply and are a fun way to make your way around.
