Bad Gastein is an old spa town near the head of the Gastein valley, The slopes just above the town link with Bad Hofgastein and further down you will find a seperate area that link to other local slopes.
Bad Gastein offers Excellent, testing long runs for confident intermediates, It has a good mix of high, open slopes and lower woodland runs.
The nursery slopes in Bad Gastein are next to the main gondola and once you have picked up the basics, you can head onto the gentle blue runs on the Stubnerkogel.
Intermediates have access to a wide variety of blue and red runs around Bad Gastein, which links to Bad Hofgastein creating one large area. There is a total off 250km pistes in the Gastein valley which are easily accessible by busses, trains that link the area.
There are a few challenging runs on the Stubnerkogel and some black pistes on the Graukogel. You can hire a guide who can take you on to some fabulous off-piste routes from Kreuzkogel to Heilstollen.
There is a Good variety of mountain restaurants and Bad Gastein itself has around 50 options so there will be something to suit everyone's taste! You will also find some classy cocktail bars, some sports bars and even a casino to enjoy after a fun packed day on the slopes.
