Based in the picturesque mountain range of Styria, Schladming is one of Austria’s most idyllic winter destinations and has deservedly developed a reputation as a world class ski resort. It has 4 connected mountains accessible from the village, with around 123km of piste, you won't be stuck for choice. Thanks to the efficient lift system across the area, it is easy for travellers to explore the wider region and put together daily itineraries that are ideal for their abilities.
The excellent Schladming ski school meets at Rohrmoos and the Planai nursery areas are extremely well-ordered, with several gentle blues to help you practice and gain more confidence.
Schladming offers the keen intermediate a real sense of travelling around on the snow with cruising pistes and tree runs that are perfect for those that have been on the skies a few times.
For the more advanced there is a limited selection of excessively challenging, however the off-piste and tree terrain makes up for the lack of classified black runs.
Dining & Nightlife
There are around 40 restaurants to choose from, with a good range of a la carte mixed with numerous cafes, pizzerias and even a mexican. Though its not a major party hotspot here, there are a few great venues to be had with some lively atomosphere.
