Bardonecchia is located in the sunny valley in the Alps, right on the French border at a height of 1300m. A traditional Italian town and vibrant ski resort, Bardonecchia is home to pine woods and stunning mountain views that usually inspire gasps of awe. On a Bardonecchia skiing holiday you will find good snow conditions throughout the season and with two of its three ski areas being interlinked it opens up a large area across two separate mountains.
Bardonecchia is a quiet and peaceful resort, making it the ideal place for beginners to learn. It offers and excellent ski school which attracts hundreds of Brits every year. Once you have mastered the skills, you will find easy, wide blue runs to progress to higher up the mountain.
Intermediates will feel right at home when skiing in Bardonecchia there are many red and blue runs spread all over the mountain.
There are 5 excellent black runs and plenty of off-piste skiing for the more experienced skier. High on Jafferau there are wide open bowls with bumps, jumps and gullies above the treeline.
Freestyle and terrain parks
Bardonecchia offers a fantastic snow park located around the base of Melezet. It is served by a modern chairlift and divided into 5 separate parks. Find kickers, rails and boxes for skiers and boarders of all levels.
There are over 50 restaurants in and around Bardonecchia, providing some fine food and local Alpine produce, like polenta, cheese and game. You will find delicious Italian cuisine as well as come hearty regional classics.
Bardonecchia has a more relaxed après ski lifestyle than most, but that said there are a few great hanuts and several bars open until the early hours.
